Welcome to Laguna Bidara Beach Resort

Laguna Bidara Beach Resort, located on the serene shores of Tanjung Bidara Beach in Melaka, Malaysia, offers a tranquil escape for travelers seeking a modest beachfront experience. Nestled along the Straits of Malacca, this resort provides stunning ocean views and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a serene spot for relaxation away from the bustle of town.

Guests have praised the resort's natural surroundings, highlighting the calm and beautiful beach with its bronze-sprinkled sand and the gentle sea breeze. The hotel’s proximity to local attractions such as the Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex and Sungai Udang Recreational Forest adds to its appeal for those who enjoy nature and exploration. The open environment encourages visitors to engage with local culture, from street food along the beach to community activities like Sunday morning Zumba classes, offering an authentic Malaysian coastal vibe.

The outdoor pool and free Wi-Fi contribute to a comfortable stay, although the pool is noted to be on the smaller side. While the property maintains free parking and air conditioning, it does not offer free breakfast, pets are not allowed, and there is no airport shuttle service. The on-site restaurant serves local flavors, with some guests enjoying the chef’s specialties, such as fried kway teow, which carry the beloved "wok hei" that adds a delicious smoky depth.

However, the resort's facilities and service have drawn mixed reviews. Some visitors have mentioned concerns regarding room cleanliness and the need for improvement in amenities such as towels, irons, and TV remote controls. The staff’s friendliness varies, with some appreciating the helpfulness and smiles from employees, while others find service inconsistent. The beach itself, while predominantly clean and inviting, suffers at times from littering and occasional algae, echoing the challenges of maintaining an open natural space.

Laguna Bidara Beach Resort appeals particularly to budget-conscious travelers and local tourists who seek simplicity combined with natural beauty. It offers a laid-back style of Malaysian hospitality and a chance to immerse in a coastal community atmosphere rather than a polished luxury resort experience. It is best suited for those who value the charm of an unspoiled beach and the slower pace of seaside living.

In conclusion, Laguna Bidara Beach Resort presents an honest and heartfelt hospitality experience grounded in its picturesque setting. It embraces the essence of a quiet beach retreat, albeit with room for enhancements in service and facility upkeep. Travelers looking for an affordable, authentic coastal stay with direct access to a lovely Malaccan beach will find Laguna Bidara a compelling choice, especially if they appreciate the charm and challenges of a destination in its natural state.

Its cheap. Its old. Its not perfect. But u gotta love the staffs' effort. They always smile. Very helpful and proactive. The beach is dirty due to stupid people mentality- they throw rubbish everywhere. The pool is green.the breakfast is too oily. But the area is well kept and clean. If u have a lot of money, go somewhere else - so you would not complain about their lackness. What the hotel need is a new blood in their management. The place is used to be so popular and pretty.

The beach was great. With food court and trees that can give you some place to sit down and enjoy the view. However nothing much you can expect with the weather. It's super hot and I cant believe how people could dive into the water

One of the best beaches you can visit in Malacca. You can go there around 4 o'clock afternoon and enjoy the sea water and wind. I saw some people swimming in the see and this is rarely happening in Malacca. The Tanjung Bidara Beach Resort is nearby and you can get a nice place to stay there.

A beautiful beach. The sand is sprinkled bronze and the sea tempting. Loads of seashells but broken corals are distressing. Spend the day in the sun by the sea. It's a very good soak. And otters... A lovely pair of beauties.

I like the view. Different experience with moderate style of Malaysian hospitality. You can enjoy a nice open environment and choose to eat local street food along the beach. It is suitable for local travellers or to those who wish to travel like local. I joined zumba class organized by local community next to beach on Sunday morning. May not so happening to those classes in big city but just nice for me to mix around with locals.

The beach is somewhat clean. Good for camping. A bit isolated (south beach). A lot of ships though. Will be able to swim but dangerous as depth increases rapidly from the beach. Watch out for the tides and don't go more than 4 metres from the parking if want to camp. Please face your camp properly to be proportional to the wind direction. Failure to do so will damage tour tent as winds are quite rough in this area.
